Author: Bishop Whitmore

The Philadelphia Union will face the Columbus Crew tonight at 8:00pm EST from PPL Park in a game that can be seen on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. MLS odds at online sportsbooks have the Union +150 soccer betting favorites on the road vs the Crew +165 while the draw would return +220. Columbus is sitting in 1st place of the Eastern conference going 10-4-4 this season with 34-points while Philadelphia has 15-points, sits in sixth position of the East and has gone 4-8-3 on the season. Sportsbooks also favor the Union PK (-125) on the point-spread soccer betting line vs the Crew PK (-105) while the over/under betting total is listed at 2.5 UNDER (-125).

Columbus will head into tonight's game on ESPN2 after losing 1-3 to Chivas USA on last Saturday while Philadelphia has received receive results in their past four games. The Union drew with New England 1-1 last Saturday, defeated Toronto FC 2-1, lost to San Jose 1-2 and drew 1-1 with Chivas USA earlier in the month. Alejandro Moreno will take the pitch against his former team that left him unprotected in this year's MLS expansion draft. Although Philadelphia are the soccer betting favorites in tonight's game, the Columbus has dismantled the other teams in the Eastern conference and could return a nice payout of +165 as underdogs.

Philadelphia will have their hands full if they plan to win at home tonight vs Columbus as the Crew are the only team in the Eastern conference that has posted a positive goal differential this year at +10. The Crew will be without Eddie Gavin who will miss the game with a head injury so Guillermo Barros Schelotto will take his place to patrol the midfield. The Union also have injuries to contend with as Shea Salinas is out with a fractured fibula while Moreno, Jordan Harvey and Danny Mwanga still nursing sprains and contusions. There will be a bit of Polish pride on the line as well tonight as both managers (Peter Nowak and Robert Warzycha) plan to battle it out in front of a national audience.
